About Nadja
Nadja is the founder and director of Brain Matters. She is registered with AHPRA as both a Senior Clinical Psychologist and a Senior Clinical Neuropsychologist, and is a Fellow of the APS College of Clinical Psychologists and the College of Clinical Neuropsychologists. She is also a Psychology Board‑approved supervisor, an Expert Witness in Court, and a Member of the Mental Health Tribunal in Melbourne.
Nadja is passionate about understanding how people think, feel, and learn. She brings a warm, grounded, and collaborative approach to both assessment and therapy, with a strong focus on providing care that is respectful, inclusive, and neuroaffirming.
Nadja completed her PhD in neurodevelopment and autism. Since 2005, she has worked across public and private health settings and has extensive experience providing diagnostic assessments and reports for a range of clinical and legal purposes. Her areas of expertise include acquired brain injury, dementia, neurodevelopmental differences such as autism, and a wide range of cognitive and memory presentations.
Nadja specialises in comprehensive neuropsychological and diagnostic assessments, including traumatic brain injury, stroke, memory concerns, intellectual disability, and autism assessments. She also conducts medico‑legal neuropsychology assessments, including capacity evaluations (financial, medical, and lifestyle), personal injury assessments, fitness‑for‑work assessments, and pre‑sentence or pre‑trial reports.
Therapeutically, Nadja’s approach is strengths‑based and person‑centred, with an emphasis on helping clients understand their brain function, build confidence, and work toward meaningful goals and life enrichment.
In her spare time Nadja enjoys spending time with her two dogs, travelling, connecting with people and languages.
