PROVISIONAL PSYCHOLOGIST

ABOUT JACK

Jack is a provisionally registered psychologist currently completing his Master of Psychology (Clinical) at Deakin University. At Brain Matters, he brings an optimistic, affirming, and curious approach to psychological assessment and therapy. Jack has experience across the creative industries, education, and primary mental health.

Jack has a particular interest in working with young people and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, Autism, and Specific Learning Disorders. He has extensive experience in both secondary and tertiary education settings and is committed to delivering care that is accessible, neuro-affirming, and strengths-based.

Jack draws on evidence-based modalities including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness-based approaches. He also provides psychological assessment for those exploring diagnoses of ADHD and Autism. Jack takes a holistic, integrated and human-centred approach, ensuring care provided works towards the client's goals.

Jack believes psychological flourishing is not simply the absence of distress, but the pursuit of connection, meaning and engagement across the lifespan. He is especially interested in the therapeutic benefits of mind-body and lifestyle interventions. Ranging from yoga and breathwork, to surfing and forest therapy, Jack enjoys researching complementary psychological interventions that can increase people's psychological wellbeing.

Outside the clinic, Jack enjoys time shared with others, including going for coffee, trail running, yoga, planning upcoming travels, and watching the mighty Geelong Cats!
