ABOUT DEMITRA
Demitra (Demi) is a bright and warm provisional psychologist who has joined Brain Matters following completion of a Master's in Professional Psychology. She is currently completing her final internship towards general registration. Demitra has previous experience in working as a provisional psychologist in a primary school setting, helping children with a wide range of struggles including anxiety, depression, grief, and symptoms of ADHD, Autism and OCD. At Brain Matters Demitra works with children, adolescents and adults, and has a very client-centered approach in therapy. She uses therapeutic approaches such as CBT and ACT and also provides psychological assessments for clients exploring diagnoses of ADHD and/or Autism.
Demitra is passionate about providing neuro-affirming care during psychological assessments and interventions, and tailoring recommendations to each client within the context of their life. She is dedicated to providing a safe environment for all clients, including those from diverse cultural backgrounds, LGBTQIA+ individuals, etc.
In her spare time, Demitra loves to spend quality time with her wife and her cat, explore Melbourne's cafes and restaurants, and travel.
